MovieFest 2004 :: It's Back - NZ First Short Movie Competition

What is MovieFest?

The aim of MovieFest is to encourage the movie makers of New Zealand and to promote and showcase the talent New Zealand has to offer. We aim to stimulate the use of digital video editing tools and to foster the use of computers for digital video editing. We screen the entrants’ work nationwide in an effort to encourage and inspire moviemakers and to give them the feedback from their peers and the general public, as well as from our professional judges. We aim to promote excellence in artistic expression by rewarding creativity, technical achievement and innovation.

By focusing the competition towards Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Hobbyists, we try to encourage the development of NZ movie making talent by providing resources and facilitating help and advice from professionals experienced in their field. We're all about assisting in the development of New Zealand's creative movie-makers and exposing them to the nation at large. If you're a seasoned Movie-maker, then we'd encourage you to 'give back' and get involved - either by entering yourself - or by helping the team, pop over to the Discussions email List.
