>The MovieFest Charitable Trust is now accepting registrations for the 2007
>MovieFest Short Movie competition and we invite you to enter this years
>competition.
>
>This is the fourth time the MovieFest nation-wide short movie competition
>has been held. The event is designed to showcase the creativity of New
>Zealand movie makers, in entry categories of primary schools, secondary
>schools, amateurs or home hobbyists and an open category for the first
>time this year.
>
>Entrants will need to produce a short three to five minute movie on a
>specific subject as outlined in our rules <http://
>www.moviefest.org.nz/guidelines.php> and entrants will have eight weeks to
>produce their movie.
>
>The national winners of each of the categories will receive a prize
>package supplied by a range of sponsors who have yet to be announced and
>the runners up will also receive prizes. The judging format has been
>altered this year to ensure all entrants an equal chance of getting their
>movie into the final selection. All movies will be appraised at a national
>level and the best three in each category will be forwarded for final
>judging.
>
>Four judges have been appointed and each of them are experienced in the
>film and video industry. They are; Rosemary MacLeod, a well known script
>writer and columnist, Hugh Macdonald, a director who learned his craft at
>the New Zealand National Film Unit, Bryan Easte, a senior
>producer/director who was Head of Childrens Programming for TVNZ and
>Miranda Harcourt, a well known New Zealand actress.
>
>The topic for this years competition will be announced on Monday 2 July
>and entrants will have until 24 August to complete their movie. There will
>be four screening festivals to be held in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin
>and Wellington. We are also planning on a number of regional screenings in
>other centres around the same time period. The National Awards Ceremony
>will take place at the conclusion of the screening in Wellington on Sunday
>28 October.
>
>To register to enter the competition, please download and fill in the
>registration form available on our web site <http://MovieFest.org.nz/

>enter. Alternatively, you can fill in the online registration form on our
>web site and pay your registration fee by credit card as detailed on our
>web page at <http:// www.moviefest.org.nz/register>. Once your movie is
>complete, you will need to supply us details about your movie, however we
>dont require any details at this stage.
